Program Objectives:
To develop basic coordination and body awareness.
To develop the ability to move the body in rhythm.
To introduce movement combinations utilizing fundamental dance technique.
To develop self discipline, self motivation, self esteem, self image, and self confidence.
To expand the dancer's sense of creativity and increase movement vocabulary.
To develop both upper and lower body strength.
To increase total body coordination and kinesthetic awareness.
To increase flexibility in the trunk and extremities.
To instill physical activity as a daily life style.
Provide a positive competitive opportunity to those who wish to attain the ultimate in dance experience.
Teach children how to set individual and team goals.
Teach children how to set up a plan to achieve the goals that they have set.
Help children cope with the concepts of winning and losing; to teach them how to be gracious winners and learn from losses and failures.
Teach children how to handle pressure and perform to the best of their ability in pressure situations.
